After Loosing her father in the sea, Rosa is lodged in the house of the lighthouse keeper João Vidal. António Gaspar, also a lighthouse keeper, loves Rosa. His jealous of João Vidal will provoque the death of Rosa, an act that the mother of António will help to cover. Fate will force the two men to pass a season in a lighthouse isolated by the sea. João Vidal discovers that António Gaspar was in love by Rosa and acuses him of her death. A fight will happen and the result is the death of both lighthouse keepers.
