Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng made a series of economic announcements that nobody seriously believes could work these days. The economy suffered badly, and then nearly collapsed yesterday. But despite the immediate and severe consequences, Truss has not changed course, or even paused for thought. This is the most incredible display of arrogance I think I’ve ever seen.
