Here I explain the soldering station I built for cheap Hakko 907 clone irons. It features a double output, a standby mode, and a rotary button. Total cost around €40.
Items I used:

Also, a power supply with 15-24V and at least 4A is needed.
On the controller PCB, I removed the in- and output jacks, and relocated both the buzzer and the capacitor to the bottom side of the PCB.
