Abandoned Navy Ship (Ghost Ship!) Explore #96 Amazing Tour Inside An Abandoned Canadian Navy Ship This explore was just incredible. This abandoned navy ship has been on the top of my list for awhile now. Knowing it will now be dismantled and scrapped, I knew I had to explore and film this ship before she is gone forever. The HMCS Cowichan 162 HMCS was built to replace the HMCS Cowichan 146 that was built in 1940. The ship entered service in 1957 and was decommissioned in Aug 1997. This navy ship was later sold in 1999 and was to be converted into a personal yacht. The plans failed and the ship has been sitting abandoned and forgotten for years. It was sold again and is now going to be dismantled and scrapped. The ship type was a Bay Class Minesweeper. A Minesweeper is a smaller sized warship designed to remove or detonate naval mines. The ship was constructed of aluminum framing and wood planking. This is to help protect the minesweeper itself against magnetic mines. It was armed with only 1 40m
