Time: LMT, GMT, UTC and ST | Basic of Navigation | General Navigation - Answering ATPL
The 4-time formats used in aviation are:
• Local Mean Time (LMT) - The time, as determined by the Mean Sun, at an observer’s local meridian.
• Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - The mean solar time of the longitude (0°) of the Royal Greenwich Observatory in England
• Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) - The Mean solar time of the longitude (0°), kept using Atomic Clock
• Standard Time (ST) - The official time in a local region adjusted for location around the earth, established by law or custom
