A Long Dormant Volcano in Alaska is Awakening; The Alaskan Krakatoa

In Alaska, 3 volcanoes are simultaneously erupting. However, it might soon be joined by the eruption of a 4th volcano, whose alert level was just raised to yellow. The volcano in question is known as Davidof, which hasn’t erupted in more than 10,000 years. This change in activity was quite a surprise, as the volcano was thought to be either long dormant or extinct. What hazards will it pose to the surrounding area? This video will discuss this event, and what might happen next. Links to more official sources: Alaska Volcano Observatory: AVO Twitter: Photo Credit for Images of Davidof: Loewen, Matt; AVO/USGS
