Thrash Metal is one of the Metal subgenres which was able to make it to the mainstream, with enormous success of such bands as Metallica, Megadeth and many others. And even though Thrash Metal took a back seat in the 90s (like most other metal genres), it was able to reboot and reinvent itself in the 21 century with some of the greatest bands and songs being released post 2000s. And while we can’t really identify the exact origins of Thrash Metal, we can take a look at the evolution of the genre and how it has changed since the 80s, checking out such early bands as Anthrax, Exodus or Slayer, and all the way to the modern bands like Nervosa, Angelus Apatrida, Ektomorf, Havok and others.
