Wilhelm Kempff plays Bach-Kempff ’Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’
Wilhelm Kempff’s August 18, 1945 Norddeutscher Rundfunk (Hamburg) broadcast recording of his own arrangement of Bach’s ’Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.’
Kempff recorded this arrangement several times but this particular performance captures the majestic tone of his arrangement quite wonderfully, as well as his fluid legato phrasing and luminous tone.
