Crowds sing Shane MacGowan’s hits as funeral procession travels through Dublin

Fans and well-wishers lining the streets of Dublin burst into song as Shane MacGowan’s funeral procession made its way through the city on Friday 8 December. The crowd spontaneously started singing The Pogues’s iconic Christmas hit ’Fairytale of New York’ as well as ’Pair of Brown Eyes’. Shane MacGowan died at the age of 65 on 30 November 2023 after a long period of illness.
