The removal of Scotland’s Stone of Destiny - BBC World Service
Scotland’s Stone of Destiny, also called the Stone of Scone, had been in London’s Westminster Abbey beneath the Coronation Chair since 1296.

But in 1950, four Scottish students decided to break into the Abbey in the middle of the night and take it back. Ian Hamilton masterminded the break-in on Christmas Eve.
