Macrame Coaster Tutorial | Easy Beginners Step by Step Square Cup Holder DIY with Fringe

This is an easy beginners tutorial for square macrame coasters made up of only two knots: Lark’s Head Knots and Square Knots. You can easily make these without the dowel and Lark’s Head Knots but I like to do this method to ensure the rows are straight. To make these coasters, you need 10x 120cm of macrame cord to attach to the dowel with Lark’s Head Knots. For the first row, make 5 square knots. For the second row, skip the first two cords and then make 4 square knots, skipping the last two cords. Repeat this process of a row of 5 square knots and a row of 4 square knots until you have reached your desired size. For this coaster, I’ve make 11 rows in total. Remember to start and finish your coaster with a row of 5 square knots. I completed the first couple of knots in real time so you can easily follow along and then sped the process up. Comb out the fringe and trim down to desired size either with scissors or with a rotary cutter. Let me know in the comments if you have made this and if you found it helpful.
