Sleeping Overnight Alone In A Remote Scotland Bothy

Sleeping overnight in a remote Scottish bothy is something I’ve always wanted to experience so I hike to a bothy in Scotland to experience bothy life for the first time.
Mountain bothies in Scotland are unlocked shelters where it’s possible to spend the night. They don’t have amenities such as running water, food or toilets. It could be described as a slight level up from wild camping.
Join me for my first ever bothy night which turned out to be a little unnerving...

WHO AM I?
If we haven’t met before... Hi, I’m Ruth 👋 and I recently bought a campervan to travel my home country of Scotland after living overseas for 12 years. I’ve hardly seen anything or been anywhere in Scotland and now is the time to change that!
