“Promise me, Ned” I wanted to pay tribute to the three parents that Jon Snow had, Ned first and foremost, then Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen who both died protecting him. There’s a reason Jon had to die and be reborn and being the heir apparent to the Iron Thorne just solidifies that for me. Who knows what his ultimate destiny may be, but I just wanted to play with that idea a little here, the duality of him being a dragon prince and a wolf king, a song of ice and fire.
