CHANEL supports Priscilla, a film by Sofia Coppola CHANEL and Cinema
Supported by CHANEL and presented at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, Sofia Coppola’s latest feature film tells the story of Priscilla Presley, the woman who once shared Elvis Presley’s life. In this biopic, Sofia Coppola depicts their relationship and tells the story of Priscilla’s passage into adulthood, her quest for identity and independence.
Greatly inspired by the allure and personality of Priscilla Presley, played by actress Cailee Spaeny, the filmmaker paid a truly Hollywood homage to her sensitive, rock’n’roll elegance. In this way, House ambassador Sofia Coppola asked CHANEL to create the wedding dress in the scene of her wedding, reinterpreting the one Priscilla actually wore on her wedding day. This embroidered gown is inspired by the spirit of CHANEL’s Spring-Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection, imagined by Virginie Viard and created within the Haute Couture and Métiers d’art ateliers.
