There were a lot of games for the arcade and home platforms that already sported different elements inspired from the movies. Here’s an example... a BASIC-programmed game that tries to recreate the final trench sequence. Survive long enough to get to the exhaust port, shoot it, and then escape without dying. I never did get the BEST ending, which is surviving after the death star fatal shot -- but I did at least save the Rebel Alliance. :-)
