OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO: Sunrise on Cahuilla by Sheverb

This is the official music video to Sunrise on Cahuilla, the cinematic ballad off Sheverb’s newest album, Once Upon a Time in Bombay Beach. This album was the result of an experimental recording project that took the 5-piece away from their hometown of Austin, TX and out to the surreal shores of the Salton Sea. The gang lived in the semi-abandoned seaside resort town of Bombay Beach, CA for one month to write and record this album. While much of this album mirrors the dystopian atmosphere of Bombay Beach with distorted guitars delivering a dark surf sound, this track celebrates the majestic vision of the Salton Sea. At one time, this sea was considerably larger than it is today, and the grander version of this body of water shared the name “Cahuilla“ with indigenous groups that lived in the area prior to colonization. The juxtaposition of crumbling man-made structures adjacent to the enduring epic beauty of mother nature symbolizes the folly of man’s attempt to dominate the natural world
