Elizabeth Hotel (1953)

Elizabethan restaurant at Gore Hotel, Kensington, London. C/U crossed swords and helmet over entrance. Tilt down to M/S of maid in Elizabethan dress entering door. M/S as she enters room carrying pigs head on a tray. M/S she places pig’s head on the candle lit table, around which are seated the diners (all in modern dress). Pan over to show jester doing somersaults on the straw covered floor. M/S girl turns from her meal and smiles at him. She gives the jester something to drink. M/S people eating and drinking from wooden bowls using their hands only. C/U woman holding a bowl up to her mouth as she eats. M/S buxom wenches serving at the table. C/U pig’s head. M/S man and woman eating with knives and fork off an ordinary plate. M/S another man and woman eating from ordinary plate. M/S maid sprinkling something out of a cup on to the floor. C/U maid carving a roast swan. Maid picks up the plate with the meat on it and carries it off. C/U wenches serving the meat at the table. C/U maid
