Meet Us Corporal Koons, MM (1942)

Titles read: “MEET US CORPORAL KOONS, MM“. Location of events unknown - somewhere in Britain? or United States of America. Various shots of Corporal Koons of the US Army in a garden (?) posing with his British honour, the Military Medal, which he won for gallantry in the Dieppe raid. He is the first American soldier to win a British decoration. Natural sound as he is asked questions by an army officer about his experiences in the raid. He says he was frightened when they landed, but he soon got over that when he began to see the action take place. He agrees he is looking forward to his next action, saying “I’ll be only too glad when I get back there to go right at them“. He ends by saying to camera that, as an American Ranger, he is proud to have fought with the English, Canadian and Fighting French Commandos, and that they are a swell bunch of boys.
