Investiture At The Palace (1942)

Titles read: “INVESTITURE AT THE PALACE“. London. General view of exterior of Buckingham Palace. We see a long queue of people filing into the Palace for investiture - mostly servicemen and women. People come out of the Palace after the ceremony. Various shots of some of those awarded with their relatives. Wing Commander Little of the RAF and Major Palmer of the South African Air Force each received the DFC, Commander Hinton, a bar to the DSO. Admiral Syfret of the Malta Convoy fame is made a KCB. Film producer Alexander Korda gets a knighthood. He is accompanied by his wife, film star Merle Oberon. Lieutenant Jones RN DSC of His Majesty’s Submarines receives the MBE. Lieutenant Wilcoxon gets an unnamed award. Captain Mason GC of the tanker Ohio poses for the camera. Commentator reminds us that Mason sailed his bombed and torpedoed ship into Malta and we see footage of the crew of the Ohio looking at a Maltese anti-aircraft gun emplacement and posing for the camera on a wall.
