Inventor Tom Hancocks filling his eccentric new invention - “Auto Skates“ - with petrol. Tom steps into his skates. The invention looks like a pair of roller skates with large engines, petrol tanks and controls attached - they look very cumbersome . Various shots of Tom whizzing down streets on motorised skates. A cab driver and a schoolboy shake and scratch their heads in disbelief.
Note: a more mature Tom later starred in a 1962 Colour Pictorial story, titled “Motorised Roller Skates“ (CP 413). Almost 20 years had passed but Tom was still whizzing around on those skates! See separate record for further details.
