Premier In Scotland Aka Churchill In Scotland (1942)

Titles read: “PREMIER IN SCOTLAND“. Edinburgh, Scotland. Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s motorcade moves through the Edinburgh crowd-lined streets (including Princes Street). M/S at ceremony in a hall which the William Darling, Lord Provost of Edinburgh bestowed Freedom of the City to Mr Churchill. Churchill makes a speech (natural sound) to the assembled crowd. He tells them that he has come straight from a visit to the Fleet. He tells of the contrast between the Fleet in Scotland and a desert army he visited some seven weeks ago, but says that the spirit was the same. During this part of the speech we see footage of Churchill visiting the Fleet with Sir Stafford Cripps. He boards naval ships and meets the men, some not long back from action. He talks of the recent speeches by German leaders displaying their states of mind, and how Hitler seems to be complaining that no one pays sufficient attention to his victories. He goes on to speak of the large-scale maltreatment of British prisone
