German Trade Mission Here (1959)

Titles read: “GERMAN TRADE MISSION HERE - PROPOSED ANGLO-GERMAN TRADE ORGANISATION MAY PUT BRITISH GOODS INTO COMMON MARKET“. Various locations of events in Germany and Britain. Various shots of frontiers between European countries; most are probably German, but one is clearly marked ’Italia’. Guards raise barriers and salute; cars and lorries cross the borders. Commentator talks of the Common Market formed by France, Italy, Western Germany, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg. Goods trains travel along railways. At Ashe Laboratories in Leatherhead we see trade-representatives from Western Germany looking at hair preparations and cosmetics being demonstrated. Glamour girls have their hair set and tinted. Girl squeezes tube of colour onto comb and runs it through the ends of her hair. In laboratories: chemical equipment; man looks through microscope. Good shots in factory of bottles being filled with lotion and tubes coming off a production line. General view across the Rhine (Rhineland). Sever
