Meet Flying Officer Bush (1944)

Title reads: “Meet Flying Officer Bush“. Location of events unknown. Various shots of group of RAF (Royal Air Force) officers sitting around camp fire at edge of fighter station. Sitting with them is an Alsatian dog, his name is Flying Officer Bush. M/S of the airmen leaving for bombing raid, they pat and stroke the dog in turn as they leave. Various shots of the dog watching aeroplanes taxi out and take off. The dog is named after his original owner who was killed in action. The rest of the squadron adopted him. The eldest member of the squadron will keep the dog permanently. The loyal dog, now alone, goes back to edge of airfield and just waits. When he hears the planes return the dog goes out onto airstrip to watch the Mustangs land. As the airmen walk across the field the dog runs to meet them, wagging his tail. He realises one airman is missing and goes back to the airstrip to wait. Dog makes an extra fuss of welcoming this airman. More shots of the group together again, r
