"Spirit Voice of the Enchanted Waters". William Barton. (Richard Tognetti directing the ACO)

This extraordinarily beautiful music is composed by William Barton, an Australian indigenous vocalist and performer. He is the singer in this performance, and is accompanied by the Australian Chamber Orchestra which is directed by Richard Tognetti. For this performance, both William Barton and Richard Tognetti worked with the Australian film score writer Piers Burbank De Vere. To reflect the depth and richness of William Barton’s music, I have used video footage of the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park, Western Australia. I am grateful to the filmmakers (Salty Wings) for not restricting the use of their film footage, which I have edited and used in my video. William Barton originally composed this music for the soundtrack to the 2021 film “River“, which was directed by Jennifer Peedom, and was released in Australian cinemas on 24 March 2022. By contrast, my video aims to profile William Barton’s music against a single Australian regional landscape
