The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23 is a song over 3000 years old. David, himself a shepherd, sings a song about a Shepherd. The Bible talks a lot about sheep. Over 500 times - more than any other animal. Sheep are timid, stupid, dependent, defenseless, vulnerable creatures… All we like sheep have gone astray. The LORD is MY shepherd. It’s personal. He is mine and I am His. Sheep totally depend on the shepherd. He names his sheep. The shepherd protects, provides and guides the sheep. All the time.
