US “Expects“ Israel to Spare Gaza “No-Strike” Zones, Netanyahu To Face Graft Trial Amid War

The Israeli military is carrying out intensive strikes in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, according to Palestinian media reports. The Israeli army said “fierce battles” are taking place between troops and Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip. The Israel Defense Forces says it struck a number of Hezbollah sites in Lebanon, following cross-border attacks on December 5. The US said it expects Israel to avoid attacking areas that Israeli authorities have identified as “no-strike“ zones in Gaza. A rocket launched by Hamas on October 7 hit a sensitive Israeli Air Force base, allegedly storing several nuclear-capable missiles.
