The Coolangatta Sands Hotel built 1911 timber built with pub accommodation upstairs is the only original Coolangatta pub left standing, The Sands Hotel formally Kirriabelle Hotel then the Port O Call Hotel. THe new old Coolangatta Sands Hotel reno featuring new bar and bistro, modern accommodation upstairs with renovated terrace for an afternoon drink. The Coolangatta Sands Hotel, affectionately known as “the Sands”, is located in the heart of Coolangatta and only a block from the beach. This tired but historic pub has been locally adored since 1911 and was overdue for a transformation. The brief was to create a modern backpackers hostel offering safe, modern and affordable accommodation with a range of facilities. The Hotel also features a new bar and bistro, functions and gaming space and renovated terrace area.
