Sarangi featuring Sabir Khan | Baithak 2021 at the G5A warehouse About the artist : Sabir Khan is a member of the Sikar Gharana and hails from a family of musical legends. He has been training since the age of 6, under the guidance of his father Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan, and his grandfather Ustad Gulab Khan. He is the 9th generation to take up the Sarangi. Today, he is known as the master of the Sarangi. His technique of playing is a rare combination of sur and laya (note and rhythm). Accompanying him is Nazar Khan on the tabla. . . . . . Baithak, an acoustic concert series, creates an intimate space which embraces the subtle, unspoken moments between artist, instrument, and audience. The performance was recorded live at the G5A Black Box which has been carefully designed for a pristine auditory experience.
