New Mexico man Nicholas Esteban Gurrola crashed head-on with an SUV carrying four passengers after sideswiping another vehicle. Gurrola attempted to escape the scene but was detained by witnesses until police arrived. Gurrola, who was under the influence of alcohol, pretended he was just smoking a cigarette and had nothing to do with the deadly crash. Las Cruces police took Gurrola into custody as they dealt with the tragic crime scene. Gurrola became cocky and aggressive at the hospital as officers questioned him.
