Punches thrown as brutal Atherstone Ball Game 2022 returns after absence

Police were forced to intervene in the savage Shrove Tuesday event which began 822 years ago. The ball game took place in Warwickshire today (March 1, 2022) but resulted in several injuries, including one man who was taken away by police to waiting paramedics. The game itself has few rules.
