Long overlooked and undervalued as legitimate energy
markets, several African countries have quietly gained
ground, with new hubs like Senegal, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire
making progress on oil and gas projects and renewable
energy developments, even as new opportunities emerge
with reforms and technology in some longtime major
players like Angola and Nigeria -- all changing Africa’s
energy landscape.
On the margins of the 73rd session of
the United Nations General Assembly, this event featured
a series of panel discussions on gas, oil, and renewables, and keynote addresses by H.E. Daniel Kablan Duncan, vice president of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, and Mr. Andrew M. Herscowitz, Power Africa Coordinator at the US Agency for International Development.
