This scene is so famous, and is so wonderful to watch unfold, that your might not initially notice the great music by Newman. But it’s there, helping this perfect story be told. Directed by Frank Darabont, based on a story by Stephen King. Starring Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, Clancy Brown and Gil Bellows. Newman received his first two Oscar nominations that year (for this and for Little Woman), and has been nominated a total of 13 times, but hasn’t won so far. The film missed out on several awards since it was a stellar year featuring Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction, and for score, The Lion King.
