Isadora Duncan (1877-1927) – Film of an Outdoor Recital

This is the only film that exists of Isadora Duncan’s dancing. It is a few seconds of footage of a recital given outdoors in an open space. A group and men and women sit and stand round the space. They watch the performance and applaud at the end. There are three versions of the footage here. The first is the full version of the film. The second is just a section of the footage but clearer. The third is in slow motion, which gives time to watch Isadora more closely. The music I’ve used here is a waltz by Johannes Brahms. Enjoy!
