The History of Uruguay: Every Year

In 1810, the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata, which Uruguay was a part of at the time, declared independence from Spain. Uruguay then became a part of the League of the Free Peoples in 1815, but it was invaded and annexed by Brazil in 1820. Uruguay finally gained its independence in 1828, becoming the nation we see today. Music: National Anthem of Uruguay (instrumental)
