Hello folks! Today I want to show you the restoration of a very old rusty spear. This spear was sent to me by a friend from Russia, he is also interested in antiques. This spear was found in the ground, apparently it had been lying there for a very long time. For me, the restoration of the spear is for the first time, so it will be interesting! Well, let’s get started!

First, I put the spear in a rust extension agent, then washed, dried and oiled. On the sanding machine, I adjusted the shape of the spear, the cutting edge and the tip. The lower part, which is attached to the shaft of the spear, I removed. It’s rusted through everything. The part of the spear that is intended for attachment, I had it.
Once I bought a steel part of something at a flea market for a penny, and it perfectly matched my spear. I cut it in half and welded everything with arc welding. Then I sanded the seams and polished the surface. The shaft was chosen with a size of 160 cm.
I did not make it perfectly beautiful and round — there is no point in this, and the beauty of the old spear is lost. With the help of a scraper, I processed the tree. The end of the shaft was lubricated with epoxy and riveted with a steel rivet. I also tempered the spear and spent it with iron chloride. I glued a part of the shaft with leather and burned the shaft for beauty. As usual, I made an interesting and funny test for you!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!
