Stormy Mundy Selection (Occasional Series - Acts of Random Archive Rummaging) Stripping back the layers of instrumentation to peer through to the inner core of a song is always an interesting exercise. This latest demix from Alex Mundy offers Crimheads an opportunity to go, metaphorically at least, ahem, into Into The Frying Pan. Initially beginning life as a descending/ascending motif developed by Fripp and Gunn it was prominently featured during King Crimson’s fraKctalisation in 1997, firstly in ProjeKct Two and all the subsequent iterations. In this version, we hear for the first time alternative guitar breaks from Belew, especially those tenaciously clawing their way into the unfolding soundscapes at the conclusion of the main song section.
