Recorded at Snakeweed Studios, Singapore on 7 April 2024.
This is a specially arranged boogie woogie rendition of Caravan, originally composed by Puerto Rican trombonist Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington. Though Caravan is more often performed to a Latin groove, it is such a great tune to stretch and experiment with and I wanted to challenge myself to do something different with it. Some of you may pick out influences of Mary Lou Williams’ Roll Em in this arrangement!
Amanda Lee, Piano and arrangement
