Largest Waterfall in Ecuador disappears. Antes y despues
EPIC GEOLOGICAL EVENT, Most watch this footage to understand what happened to one the biggest waterfalls in Ecuador, it was surprising to witness this huge geological change. The volcan reventador next to the Rio Quijos had formed a gigantic natural dam many centuries ago and the river had been carving this rocks non stop until it found its way back through the original river bed. The footage here shown is from the day after the collapse of the waterfall, looking at aerial pictures from the well known ecuadorian photographer Jorge Anhalzer just a couple days later, the erosion of the river bed had moved several hundred meters upstream. The most interesting thoughts came to my mind when I saw this erosion rate been so fast and moving upstream towards the largest hydroelectric project in Ecuador called COCA CODO SYNCLAIR, just 5km upstream from this old basalt and volcanic dam. The river below the dam is turned into a massive mud channel and definetelly affected the geology and the nature of the river bed. Her
