Rare, but possible: common swift bird eating and drinking on its own

This video shows a rare phenomenon: an adult common swift bird eating and drinking on its own. Ususally, common swift birds will not do this and have to be fed manually, which requires a lot of experience by the feeding person (see our videos on “how to feed an adult swift“ and “how to feed a young swift“ for more information).
