In November 2019, a series of shots were published showing a test mule of the future MC20 based on a modified Alfa Romeo 4C; the car featured an enlarged rear portion and a much wider track. On 1 July 2020, Maserati presented the car’s engine called “Nettuno“. The car, which was initially supposed to debut in May 2020, was presented on September 9th The car is powered by a V6 with 90° banks with dry sump lubrication, equipped with a twin spark plug system and a pre-chamber ignition derived from Formula 1. The engine is powered by two turbochargers and a direct and indirect fuel injection system at 350 bar through two injectors per cylinder, for a total of twelve The weight of the engine is around 220 kg. The unit develops 630 horsepower at 7500 rpm and a torque of 730 N m between 3000 and 5500 rpm, with the limiter set at 8000 rpm and with a ratio of 210 HP/litre, with electric accelerator of drive by wire type. The engine is partially derived from the Ferrari F154 V8 mounted on the road Ferrari SF90 and adopts some components from the Alfa Romeo 690T V6 engine of the Giulia Quadrifoglio ⚡️ Discover ALL new cars before anyone else!
