The making of an animatronic alien puppet by Eva Taylor, NIDA’s 3rd year Properties student

Third year Properties & Objects student; Eva Taylor documented her major work; an animatronic alien puppet. The creature has an 8 way two stage animatronic tail in addition to animatronic lips, jaw and tongue. Head body and limbs are controlled via rods. Torso and limbs are hand-carved from wood and deadened, encapsulated silicone used for muscle groups. The underskull is a fibreglass cast coated with a silicone skin.
