Cornershop feat. Light Of Aquarius ’Milkin’ It’

’Milkin’ It’ is music video for UK band Cornershop that I shot in East Oakland, Ca. The single will be out 09 April ’12 and the album 09 May ’12. The video features turf dancers ENinja and Chonkie F Tutz of Turf Feinz (). Turf dancing is a complex homemade brew of breakdancing, ballet and tutting and is usually done in response to a friend dying - an RIP dance. I wanted to show the vibrancy in a community that is so slammed with the label of ’broken’. I wanted to show real people doing something for themselves. Expression by any means necessary. That is the essence of hip hop and something that I hope comes across in this film. A little slice of life on the corner and part of a much longer one off documentary Turf Kidz to be shot over the next year.
