Verdi Requiem ‣ Stignani, Caniglia, Gigli: best ’Liber Scriptus’ ever! • Quid sum miser [REMASTERED]
Ebe Stignani, in my opinion the best reference for the mezzo part ever recorded, Maria Caniglia and Beniamino Gigli sing the “Liber Scriptus“ and “Quid sum miser“ in this amazing recording conducted by Tullio Serafin (1937). I have yet to listen to another more intense, even scary in the best sense of the word, and technically flawless “Liber Scriptus“.
