Whitewashing a Terracotta Planter

Soften the look of your new terracotta pots with this simple whitewashing technique. Give your pots an aged look that will fit beautifully in a cottage garden or any space in need of shabby chic decor. MATERIALS: 1 part White or Ivory Chalk Paint 2 parts Cold Water Chip Brush Work Rag Mix water and paint until combined. Brush onto surface of the Pot and wipe off with the Rag. Repeat process for desired look. If your Pot has decorative trim, brush a small amount of undiluted chalk paint and wipe off to add an additional flair. Allow to dry overnight before handling. NOTE: If you wish to display this inside your home, know that terracotta pots are porous and will require a waterproof saucer underneath before placing on the floor.
