Il Grande Rock contro la SLA - Conquistador - Galliate 2013 (Procol Harum cover)

July 2013: an epic concert to fight the SLA (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) took place in Galliate (near Novara, Italy), also featuring Geoff Whitehorn (current Procol Harum guitar player), Clive Bunker (original Jethro Tull drummer), Martin Barre (current guitar player of the same band) and Roberto Tiranti (singer with Labyrinth) and an orchestra (directed by Andrea Oddone). The backing band was composed by the Beggar’s Farm (official Jethro Tull tribute), there were also a few “minor“ guests, including myself, covering the Hammond parts on most of the Procol songs. A personal “thanks“ to Antonio Costa Barbé (who also played or sang on most of the concert): he made possible the involvement of Geoff and myself. One of the interesting idea of the concert was to have the Procol Harum guitar player play a Jethro Tull song and vice versa, here Martin Barre (and Clive Bunker, of course!) approach the classic Procol hit from the ’70s Conquistador. Curiously
