Elon Musk visits Auschwitz

Elon Musk made a surprise visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial site on Monday, accompanied by Rabbi Menachem Margolin, journalist Ben Shapiro, and Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev. Musk participated in a memorial ceremony, laying a wreath at the wall of death. Later, he spoke at a conference on anti-Semitism in Krakow. He and his social media platform, ex-Twitter X, have faced an advertiser backlash, ostensibly over anti-Semitism, and has been criticized for failing to remove anti-Semitic content, particularly that critical of Israel’s conduct in the war in Gaza. The official Auschwitz Memorial X account was one such critic. Musk had previously visited Israel to express his opposition to anti-Semitism, while having to wear a child-size bulletproof vest as punishment.
