Robotic Arm with Muscles 9th version - AUTOMATON

We made this artificial human arm in a garage. Most of the solutions used in it mimick the real anatomy. Our goal is to create an affordable domestic humanoid robot that can do all the hard work and housekeeping and to start a company. We started from an arm but we are going for a full body. Our robot will be made of cheap materials, as strong as human, precise, lightweight and soft-tissued. By using artificial muscles we achieved the capability of lifting significant loads without damage and with very little noise (excluding the pump, which is going to be replaced by a more quiet one). Sorry for poor lighting in this video! UPDATE 1. We managed to construct special mini valves with flow control to get more dynamic movements. They take up about 8 times less space in the robot’s torso. 2. We inserted micro rotary sensors in the joints.
