The second record of this Peruvian act. From the outset, Huasao positions itself as true harbingers of the foetid winds of the nether regions as this record creates a tumultuous and harsh black metal atmosphere, characterised by high-pitched shrieks reminiscent of depressive black metal wails. This vocal style contributes to the underlying sorrow that permeates the entire release. Additionally, the melody, which is moderately harmonious, overflows with minor chords, further enhancing the melancholic tone. The opening track is a notable highlight, beginning as a pure dungeon synth piece before seamlessly transitioning into a more atmospheric kind of metal. This progression sets the stage for the rest of the debut, establishing Huasao’s ability to merge different elements within the black metal genre. This record is a wonderful solo start for the project, offering exactly what most black metal fans crave: pure, unwavering spite. In this case, the spite is soaked with gloom, creating a uniquely compelling sound.
