Antipodean beat makers, Fishing, otherwise known as Russ and Doug, have been making sounds together since early 2010 both here in the UK and their native Australia. And it was through a fellow Aussie band, Cloud Control, that we were introduced to these guys. They came to us with a concept of creating and sampling sounds in and around water and we thought it was high time we did a session on the River Thames in a boat with accompanying river-like animations! Needless to say, the practicalities of filming two electro artists in a tiny rowing boat made this an insane idea!! We met the guys along the Richmond riverbank, hired a rickety boat for a couple of quid, and Russ and Doug, along with Matt and Joe all piled in for what was easily the most hilarious session we’ve done to date!
