Alexandre Tharaud plays Schubert: Rosamunde, Op. 26, D. 797: No. 6, Entr’acte No. 3

From Schubert’s rich and varied oeuvre, Alexandre Tharaud has extracted the captivating incidental music composed for the play Rosamunde and created original piano transcriptions of four excerpts. Discover them on his all-Schubert album: Rosamunde Princess of Cyprus was a play by Helmina von Chézy that premiered in December 1823, featuring incidental music written by Schubert. In addition to these piano transcriptions that Alexandre has made from moments of this music, his Schubert program also features all four of the D899 Impromptus, written in 1827, and the six Moments musicaux, first published in 1828.
